Sophie's is known primarily for its savory steaming plates of traditional Cuban food offering a great variety to choose from every day. The sandwiches, including a classic Cuban Sandwich, are also prepared with authentic recipes. Fried plantains, great appetizers, side dishes, and beverages including the traditional icy Batidos with tropical fruits, provide something for everyone. And don't forget to "Twist" your sandwiches. The "Twist" originated from "Pernil With a Twist Sandwich" which adds fried sweet plantains and Sophie's special green sauce to the sandwich; it won the Best Sandwich in NY Award!
